Effective April 1, 2009 AQAF is performing medical and quality reviews for the Alabama Medicaid Agency. AQAF is performing prior authorizations for durable medical equipment, private duty nursing and certain medical services; long-term care reviews, including hospice pre-certification and concurrent reviews; and retrospective review of institutional admissions.

AQAF staff is well-trained to ensure that specific reviews/prior approvals are completed in a timely manner. AQAF has contracted two RESNA certified Physical Therapists so turnaround time on prior approvals of PT-related requests will be timely as well.
