AQAF Performance Measurement System PDF Print E-mail

AQAF Performance Measurement System evolved out of several health care quality endeavors including health care quality improvement projects initiated by AQAF as the QIO for the state of Alabama. Measures / indicators derived from these programs provide a data driven approach in the monitoring of the quality of health care and its outcomes. These measures are based on clinical practice guidelines, scientific literature, and / or clinical consensus and have been clinically validated and tested for accuracy and reliability.

AQAF Performance Measurement System can provide confidential, reliable, and comparative data to participants. AQAF Performance Measurement System currently offers five hospital core measures: AMI, HF, PNE, SCIP and Outpatient. In addition to ORYX(r) (ORYX is a registered trademark of The Joint Commission) services, resources for those who wish to use data in developing a quality improvement project are available. These resources include project design, team development, project workbook development, presentation material design, and feedback presentations.

The Benefits of the AQAF Performance Measurement System:

• AQAF Performance Measurement System supplies comparative data from providers as well as provider specific data. A provider's comparative data is enhanced by the number of providers collecting the same data.
• AQAF Performance Measurement System offers supportive services to providers in selection of ORYX measures, interpretation of ORYX reports, recommendation for using data in quality improvement efforts, and in addressing future ORYX/The Joint Commission requirements.

Each performance measure cost includes:

• Software for each performance measure selected
• Installation of software
• Software technical support
• Program usage documentation
• One time performance measure abstraction training
• Performance measure abstraction documentation
• Quarterly reports, graphs, and control charts
• Submission of required information to The Joint Commission
• Submission of required information to CMS

We also offer additional services that can be custom tailored to meet your specific needs including:

• Data abstraction
• Data entry (if provider abstracts cases on hard copy tool)
• Quality improvement projects
• Feedback presentations
• Designing and developing presentation materials
